LEISURE ACTIVITIES

Walking, hiking and climbing on Oiti. Most of the trails on the south side of the mountain begin at Pavliani, Kastriotissa and Pyra. The south side has the most gentle slopes and the paths are less demanding; some are adequately waymarked. The Oiti massif is criss-crossed by a network of trails which are interconnected either at the Trapeza shelter, the summit of Greveno or Pyrgos peak, Oiti’s highest. The most popular routes are the ascent from Pavliani to Katavothra and from Koumaritsi (840 m) to Pavliani. In addition, the E4 European long-distance path skirts the border of Fthiotida.
